Winter Is Black, and Let’s Put Color on It!

We all know that fashion is fleeting. A trend lasts until a new trend arrives. Yet there are garments or accessories that none of us would ever get tired of wearing: ballet flats, ballet flats, for example, and the whole fashion business confirms this: stylists always propose new versions, sometimes reinventing their own vintage:

The ballerina is not an element of a single style: she adapts to many looks, it is wearable with almost any item of clothing.
The Dior campaign that we see in all the fashion magazines these days alluding to Brigitte Bardot evokes the famous outfits with the dancers of the French actress who wore them with amazing elegance and who interpreted them as a sexy accessory like the cleavage:
Throughout the web we can find images torn from the daily life of famous people and ordinary people (the well known street style) who interpret the dancer and consecrate her as an essential cult shoe:
Icon of the ballet flats style is above all Kate Moss who often wears them, even in the rainy London winters, barefoot or with black tights. The third look in the photo, a total blue shot a few years ago, made me fall in love forever with the combination of the blue of the garments with the black of the accessories: glasses, collar, shoes and bag.
Model Anja Rubik in a photo published yesterday by stockholmstreetstyle: soft stone drapey dress and simple black ballet flats. Thanks to its height, the whole is still slender and does not make you regret a décolleté with a heel.
Blake Lively wears them in glitter to enhance a total black look and recall the texture of the sweater, and in a different look, like Kate Moss, black in subtle contrast with the navy blue of a sheath dress.
These are the famous looks of Kate Holmes who a few years ago consecrated the binomial boyfriend jeans with ballerina, perfect in all its forms: black, silver or lacquered red with lanyard.
Queen and extreme interpreter of the ballets flats was the wonderful Amy Winehouse who when she was not on stage always wore her regardless of the rest of the look. As in these photos: in the beach version, with denim shorts and bikini top and in formal dresses, albeit very original.
I consider each of these looks timeless, just demonstrating that the dancers were beautiful the day before yesterday worn by Brigitte Bardot, yesterday at Amy Winehouse’s feet and today they are beautiful in Anja Rubik’s beautiful shot.
Every low cost brand now offers ballet flats in every imaginable color even if you often manage to wear them only a few months before having to replace them. Critical buyers of dancers like me certainly know the Repetto (decidedly not very low-cost) and the Porselli (with a slightly retro design), two brands that are born precisely from dance shoes since they are two companies that excel in the ” sporty “technical.
What I expect from a ballerina is the perfect combination of material and design: the sole, the upper, the neckline and the shape of the toe.
These are the dancers that I decided to aim for during the upcoming sales: I found them on GlamourChoice, an e-shop that selects excellent quality products.
These ballet flats have all the characteristics that I am looking for and that every ballet-flats addicted can confirm: the leather sole absolutely low to the ground but with a reinforced heel, the neckline that lets you perceive the attachment of the toes without uncovering them, the shape of the toe not too round nor sharp, the leather of the upper and the choice of basic shades.
I have not yet decided whether to take them black (evergreen!) Or biscuit color (perfect for any summer look and with tanned skin): your suggestions will be welcome and useful.
